This 00 size example was purchased as a loose movement with a replacement
high grade snap on dial from Starr & Co. in New York. I commissioned Rolland
Fisher to case it in 18K rose gold in a case of his original design with a glass
back. The case follows the general lines of the Patek Calatrava case. Rolland
cased an additional Patek movement in a very similar case.
The OM model was the highest grade ladies watch ever produced by Waltham and
is generally considered to be the highest grade ladies watch ever produced in
the United States and perhaps in the world.
Rolland Fischer won the NAWCC watch case crafts competition with his original
watch cases and is widely known as a superb goldsmith even though it remains an
avocation with him. This case was produced from gold mined by Rolland in Colorado
and smelted and alloyed with 25% metallurgical pure copper and 75% metallurgical
pure gold. The 18K buckle is finished with Rolland's trademark
acorn crest. The strap is an exotic by Frisson.
