The watches in this portion of the exhibit are those that were collected by Webb C. Ball and survived in his effects until recently when they were sold by one of his descendents to Jeffrey P. Hess, President of Ball Watch Company USA. These watches represent watches that were important to Webb C. Ball and the family. Some examples such as the Illinois watch and the Huegenin were early personal watches kept for sentimental reasons. Other examples appear to be historically important and kept by the family to document the history of Webb C. Ball and his watches. The watches are generally in very fine to pristine condition, but were not serviced before these photographs were made. |
